What about international collaborations?
As normative frameworks are commonly disparate in Europe and globally, it is crucial to take this into account when entering into international research projects. All partners shall be aware of their obligations in relation to research integrity, but also on the procedures that would apply in case of possible surfacing of allegations of scientific misconduct.
In 2009, the Global Science Forum of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) produced guidance that can be particularly useful in this context: Investigating Research Misconduct Allegations in International Collaborative Research Projects: A Practical Guide.
