Text recycling still holds a particularly contentious position in the debate on scientific misconduct. Actors have not yet fully crystalized rules and regulations about its permissibility. When writing your own text, it is advised not to reuse extensive fragments from earlier work (in any case no more than a few sentences). And in any case, you are advised to correctly reference any source from which you obtained information or text, including the case that you are one of the authors of this source.
