Contributions lists

A different approach to listing authors is by letting each author indicate to which part of the research the author’s contribution was. 

A benefit of this is transparency. Any reader can see who contributed to what part of the research and their roles can be assessed accordingly. 

Secondly, this solves some issues involving the accountability of the researchers as it can now be specified who was responsible. 

However, it is also suggested that contribution lists might lead to avoidance of specific tasks which are not perceived to be as valuable as other tasks or which accompany greater risks (Sauermann & Haeussler, 2017).
